A canuck in Oz: May 2007

P!NK conert May 28th 2007

Well a few of the girls got together and bought me a ticket to go and see P!NK for my birthday present!!! How nice!!!
Yesterday I wrote my final assignment (Quiz) for term one....then Christina and I headed into Sydney for the afternoon. We arrived at Circular Quay and headed to Starbucks....how i miss starbucks! Then we basically just wondered around the city for the afternoon, into the billabong, rip curl, roxy stores and really anywhere else we wanted to go. I called Cecilia to let her know i was in the city and again we met up with her for a drink. I love hanging out with her. She might make it down to Wollongong on Saturday for my birthday. (I am also hosting the end of term/birthday party bash here!!)
So after a few hours of sitting and chatting with Cecilia, Christina and I headed to the Sydney Entertainment Center. Where we met up with Jen and Ashley (they had stayed in Wollongong for the afternoon, and just came up for the concert)
Talk about an amazing show!!! She was great, very entertaining. If i had the money i would go and see her show on June 7th. that is how good she was!!
I got tons of pictures (cause really would you expect anything different from me LOL)

Then we headed back into wollongong, arriving at 130am. And I actually made it to lecture at 8:30am....not too shabby. I can't wait until tomorrow (wed) at 3:30pm.....1:30 am for the Canadians! That is when i am done for 2 weeks before Malaysia!! Ican't believe how fast it is going!! In some ways i feel like i left everyone SO long ago, but then to think it is June already is just crazy and i only have 6 months left before i have to come home!!! ( I know total turn around from when i first got here!.....but come on i am a Gemini!!!)

Today Christina and I went to watch the first game in the stanley cup. I have to say i feel like a traitor for cheering for the Sens....but really it's only cause they are the last Canadian team, and the leafs are out....it's not like i am choosing to cheer for them over the leafs!! Although the Sens lost to the Ducks.....oh well it was super nice to go and watch the game. We got to watch it live....it was weird cause it was 10am here!!

OH YAH

I totally forgot to tell everyone when i am coming home...silly me!
I have booked my flights home. I leave Sydney on November 25th and head to Auckland New Zealand for a week, then December 2nd fly to Nadi Fiji. have 5 nights there and head up to LA on December 7th. We have to stay a night over in LA due to the fact that flights from Fiji arrive in LA at 1pm and the last flight from LA to Toronto is at 955am. So we have a night in LA and then we are on the last leg of our trip, arriving in Toronto on December 8th at 535pm!
We haven't booked anything for Fiji yet, but i think we should get on that pretty soon, and in NZ we are thinking we will hire a car and head down to the south Island cause everything we want to do in NZ is down there. I have found a website that offers car rentals for $1/day. It's more relocating then renting a car. We would drive it down to Christchurch and then have to fly back up to Auckland, but that flight is only $99 so not too bad, and worth it. Everyone i have talked to that has been has told me that there really isn't much to do in the North Island.....so we will see!!
That's all for now....I should be getting back to my work, I have one last paper to write and then one quiz next week.....then 2 weeks off...>YEAH!!!!! I need a break, and i feel like i am getting sick now....NOT GOOD!!

UPDATE!

Hello all.....sorry it's been awhile!
School has been so crazy lately! 14 assignments in 6 weeks....that is just crazy.
I have 2 weeks of classes left and then I have 2 weeks off before I head to Malaysia.
I can't wait!! It's going to be such a wonderful experience!
Nothing too much exciting has happened lately due to the fact that i have been so busy with school.
The past 2 fridays Christina, Chris and i have gone to the local builder's club (just down the street) to watch the playoffs. I feel like a traider for cheering for Ottawa, but the leafs are out and the sens are the last Canadian team in the playoffs. It's been great to see Hockey again!! Chris and I can't wait until October when regular season starts up again, so we can go and watch the Leafs, and we can watch with our jersey's on!!

I may have moved to the other side of the planet but i haven't changed a bit. On Friday Lindsay came down with the little boy she babysits and we took him to Zoom which is basically an indoor jungle gym. I was goofing off and jumped over a foam block that is about 3 feet high and 2 feet wide, and missed!! i tripped over it and rolled my ankle. Which has basically left me hobbling around for the past 2 days. .....same old sarah new town!! lol
One last thing......on wednesday morning i woke up and looked on the wall of my room to see a spider....a spider the size of my palm....as we all know i hate spiders, i stood outside my room until lindsay woke up. When she went to kill it, it moved and hid in the door, so no way to get it out we then left and i hoped and prayed that when i got back it would be gone! No such luck. When i got back i looked up and there it was on the ceiling. So lindsay and i decided we would vacuum it up. So she held the vacuum up to the ceiling and i held the plug. The plan was suck, unplug and run!!
So she sucked it up, i unpluged it and we ran,,,,,problem was no one had the base of the vacuum. So i grabbed it and started running down the hallway, only to trip on my pants and go flying onto the ground. As i was falling i threw the vacuum to keep the momentum going so lindsay could get it out onto the balcony. I got up quickly and ran after to help get it out, we put it on the balcony and ran back into the apartment closing the door behind us......then we continued to laugh about it for about 20 mins......Ah these are the days of our lives right......lol
